Community Update 12/19/22
Happy Holidays! If you were able to attend the holiday event on Saturday, December 17th, we hope that you had a wonderful time of fellowship with your neighbors and the staff had fun putting together the event. I believe we have a couple of new traditions. For those that could not attend, we hope you will be able to join us next year. We will get the photos up on our board this week. We took some of the leftover treats to our neighborhood Firehouse and they loved that we thought of them.
A huge thank you for everyone that participated in our Toys for Tots drive. The association collected 175 toys to bring cheer and smiles to many in need.
K9 for Warriors is doing a towel drive. You may drop off your newly used towels at The Gallery Clubhouse and put in the basket outside the movement studio. Your contributions will go a long way in assisting our veterans and these wonderful K9’s.

If you see police around the clubhouse during business and afterhours, do not be alarmed. To have a presence in the community and build a strong relationship with JSO, we have offered them place to come and grab a cup of coffee and use the bathroom. It gives us the extra presence in the neighborhood should something arise.
We have heard feedback from the community on the exterior holiday décor. Next year the association will put together a committee to help design and work on the exterior décor. Unfortunately, we do not have much in the way of storage, so we will have to be creative. Lighting companies that put up lights and store them are costly, and we have three areas that need to have work completed. Our goal is to be mindful of the budget to avoid having to raise assessments. We will begin putting the committee together July/August so we can get an idea of costs for the budget. Anyone interested in being part of the team can sign up at that time.
Save the date: new resident orientation will be Tuesday, January 10th 1:30pm-3pm.
If you moved in December 2021-June 15, 2022, and have not yet picked up your name tags, please stop by the front desk to pick them up. If you moved in June 16-present we will be placing your order based on the name tag form, you completed when you moved into the community in January. If you wish to replace a lost name tag the cost is $10 and you can order at the front desk.
A copy of the association’s governing documents is available on the Connect Resident Portal. The documents outline governing rules and regulations of the association. If you have any questions or would like to address any items outlined in the documents, we hold quarterly Townhall Meetings, where you can submit your questions ahead of time for the board to address. I anticipate our next meeting sometime in February.
If you have any items for the January calendar, please make sure to get them into Lindy no later than Friday, December 23rd by noon to make the first run of the January calendar. Lindy will be on holiday starting the December 29th-31st.
Fitness classes offered by the association will be on break 12/22/22-01/02/23 due to budget constraints. Some residents have asked if they could pay the instructors directly to have them come during this period. If you have signed up for those classes, please make sure you follow up with the residents overseeing these signups. Fitness class offerings will be $4 per class when we resume classes in January. You may purchase a punch pass for $80 (20 classes) at the front desk. Check and credit/debit* cards accepted. Additional fee applies to credit/debit card purchases.
New ballroom private event rental pricing as of 1-1-2023 for Ballroom rental – the Ballroom will be available for rental based on the following price changes: Ballroom will be $150 for up to 3 hours and $100 for every hour after. Deposit remains at $300 and will be refunded if the space/kitchen are returned cleaned and no damages, spills, etc. All other pricing is the same.
With family visiting over the holidays, if you need a holiday parking pass, please come to the office to pick one up. Reminder do not block the sidewalks with your vehicles, as people are walking around, and construction will be ongoing over the holidays. If you have guests visiting, you need to accompany them to the amenities.
If you will be traveling, Jacksonville is anticipating very chilly temps where the highs are anticipated to be in the 30’s, lows in the 20’s and wind chill. Pipes are likely to freeze when the heat is turned off if the temperatures outside are very low. You can turn the heat down, but don’t turn it completely off when you go away. Leave it on so it keeps plumbing fixtures and pipes at a temperature above freezing until you return.
Grinch reminder no FIREWORKS on New Year’s Eve or Day are permitted in the community.
Warmest holiday wishes,

New Year’s Quotes:
“Well, we have a whole new year ahead of us. And wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could all be a little gentler with each other, a little more loving, and have a little more empathy, and maybe, next year at this time we’d like each other a little more.” Judy Garland

“A New Year…a fresh, clean start. It’s like having a big white sheet of paper to draw on.” Bill Watterson
